Ferarites-UAE to celebrate Monthi Fest

Dubai , August 08: It's time of the year again to usher in the lively memories of sugarcane, flowers and pure vegetarian Noven Jevan to celebrate our Family Fest!

Yes, Monthi fest is just around the corner and Ferarites-UAE, an association of Ferarites living in the UAE, is pleased to announce the feast of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Thursday 16th of September 2010 at Winny’s Restaurant, Karma, Dubai.

                                         

 

The program will begin at 8.00 pm sharp. The main goal of organizing this feast is to bring all the Ferarites living in seven Emirates together and be a part of family event said Vincent Pereira. President of Ferarites-UAE in a communique to Feraronline.com  Program includes customary offering of flowers to Mother Mary by children. There will be ‘Novem Jevan’ followed by light entertainment and vegetarian buffet dinner.

All the Parishioners of Ferar living in the UAE are cordially invited to join in celebrating this special day and revive memories of back home.

Honouring Winners of Gram Panchayat Election from Ferar was held on Sunday 18th july 2010 after mass. Our parish Priest Fr. Stany fernandes Honoured the Winners and wished them all the best in their Public service.

Ferar, July 6th 2010: Maria Jyothi Womens Group was Inaugurated on July 4th by parish priest Fr. Stany Fernandes in regular mass.. 28 Members joined the Group.

A regular inauguration function was held after mass. Director of the Maria Jyothi womens group Fr. Stany Fernandes, Womens group Motivator Sr. Agenisia Frank, President of Womens group of Pompei church, gurpur Mrs Vijaya Dcosta, Parish counsil president Mr. Melwyn Albuquerque, CODP member Mr. George Misquith and Maria Jyothi Womens Group,ferar president Mrs. Leena Rodrigues were on stage.

 Mrs. Vijaya Dcosta spoke a few words on how to work in a group and help the society. Maria Jyothi Womens Group Mrs. Judi anchored the program; Vice president Mrs. Voilet Albuquerque proposed the vote of thanks.

Ferarites-UAE hold Family Picnic

 

Dubai, April 16, 2010: Ferarites-UAE, a premier social, cultural and charity organization of parishioners of St. Francis Xavier Church, Ferar residing in UAE, organized their annual family picnic at Zabeel Park, Dubai on Friday 16th April, 2010. It was a fun filled, memorable day for all the members to come together with their family and friends. The day long fun-filled event included sporting activities, games, entertainment and prizes galore, thoroughly enjoyed by adults and children alike.

The programme started at about 11:00 am with a large gathering and breakfast was served at the venue. Mr. Vincent Pereira, President of Ferarites-UAE welcomed Chief guest   Mr. Lancy Madtha, Managing Director, Integrated Freight & Logistics, Ferarites and the guests and all those gathered to have fun under the open sky. He appreciated the presence of large crowd despite summer and lauded their support in the past and sought support for the future events.  Later, Mr. Lancy Madtha congratulated Ferarites for professionally conducting their events and wished success for future programs.

The day’s event began with a warm up game involving all the participants and then the gathering was divided into 4 groups representing four colors red, yellow, purple and green. Each team was then asked to select their Team Captain. Different games ranging from group to individual participation were conducted by the committee members. Spot games were also conducted with instant prizes. The old traditional and the most attractive game of the morning session “Modki Futovnchi” (Breaking the pot) captured the attention of all the onlookers. The gathering then danced to the tunes of Non stop Baila.

A delicious lunch was served by Al Shay Restaurant, Karama, which was enjoyed by the participants.


After the lunch an opportunity was provided to the 4 groups to exhibit individual and group talents. A talent show was organized. Four topics were given to the teams namely, “Ganjimutachi Saanth”, “Ploughing and Harvesting”, “Traditional Roce” and “Family Infighting”. All these added humor was a real good entertainment to the viewers which was well presented by the groups. Housie Housie was conducted and later prizes were distributed to the winners. High tea with snacks was served around 5.00 PM. Every team showcased their talents and good entertainment to the eagerly watching picnickers.  Later housie-housie was conducted by Rajesh Rego and Lawrence Cutinha.
The most exciting and thrilling games of the day “Kabaddi Kabaddi” and “Tug of war” then conducted where the nonparticipating members kept cheering and supporting the players.

Finally, Mr. Santhosh Santhumayor thanked all the participants who took part in all the games and entertainments, the sponsors and all the arrangers (caterers, music). The day’s event was well compeered by Mr. Norbert Sequeira, Vice President, Ferarites-UAE and  Cutinha-Public Relation Co-ordinator. The games were  jointly conducted by  Leslie Fernandes-Treasurer, Mr Leslie Pinto-General Secretary, Mrs Clara Fernandes-Programme Co-ordinator, Mrs Lily Moras-Joint Gen.Secretary and Roshni D’Souza.  Alwyn Fernandes-Sports Coordinator along with his teamprovided logistic support for the games. As usual First aid was provided on the dot by Dorrin Sequeira.   Although it was 6.30 pm, the picknickers kept continuing dancing to the tune of popular dance songs played by well known  D.J Alwyn .

The fine weather and breezy cool wind enhanced the joy of participants. All the members departed with fond memories of sharing joy and happiness as one family.
Ferarites-UAE would like to take this opportunity to thank M/s Nestle Food Products,  Gulf & Safa Dairy, Al Ain Water and Tiffany LLC for providing juice,chocolates and Water.  Picknickers thoroughly enjoyed beverages and sweets through out the day.

Ferarites-UAE Announces Family Picnic on April 16, 2010 (Friday)

It's Summer Time !!!
Still it's time to have fun!
So we're having a picnic
and we hope you can come!

Perfect time of the year for families and friends to gather for picnics, reunions as well as outings as summer is just setting in.

Ferarites-UAE, an association of Ferarites living in the UAE, is pleased to announce the “Famiy Picnic” to be held on Friday 16th April 2010 at Zabeel Park, Dubai at Gate No:3 (opposite to Lulu Hyper Market- close to  the pedestrian crossing)

The day’s program will begin at 10.30 am and continue until 6.30 pm. The day is planned to be packed with fun filled games, spot prizes and other field games with delicious Mangalorean lunch. Specialty of the day will be "Modki Putovnchi, (breaking the pot) Tug of War, Kabaddi and many more…” said Vincent Pereira,  President of Ferariites-UAE in a communiqué to feraronline.com

The entry ticket is reasonably priced at AED 15/- per person (children below 5 years free) which will include breakfast, lunch and High Tea..  Entrance fee to the park is  be paid by the picnicker.

Catechism Day was celebrated on sunday 7th march
Catechism Day was celebrated in ferar on sunday 7th march. All the teachers who teach Catechism for the children were present. Fr Stany Fernandes, Melwyn Albuquerque and Rony vas were present at the prize distribution ceremony. All the children who got grades in the Catechism Exam were given prize.. Sweets were distributed to all the chldren

Day of the Sick and The Elderly held for Ferarites..
15th january 2010: To begin the new year with help and service catholic sabha had organised a one day camp on how to look after the sick and elderly people on sunday january 10th 2010. Our parish priest Fr. Stany Fernandes, Fr. Stany Sequeira and Fr. Maxim Rodrigues celebrated the mass. After the mass the elders and their care takers gathered at the church hall. Breakfast was served for the people gathered. A group of 45 elders and a group of 25 caretakers was formed. Dr. Laveena Noronha was the main speaker presently working at the Ave maria ashram, vamanjur. Mr Ronald vas, Mr melwyn Albuquerque and Mr. Raphael Dsouza, Head of St.Joseph Convent Sister consetta and Mr. william Dsouza were present at the formal enaugration. Fr. Stany fernandes distributed the holy rosary to the elderly people as a gift of rememberance. Mrs. Tara laveena fernandes addressed the elderly people and Dr. Laveena Noronha discussed the problems faced by the elders and the care takers and the various laws that are applicable to look after the elders were discussed. Catholic Sabha was thanked for organising such an event which benefit both the elders and their care takers. Lunch was served for the people gathered and everyone thanked for the success of the Camp.

New year was Celebrated by Ferarites

January 1: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new" [2 Corinthians 5:17]

Ferarites Celebrated new year with a Thanks giving mass, thanking for all the Blessings they recieved over the past year. The Holy Mass began after the Sacramental Aradhaan. Fr. Stany Sequeira, Fr. Prem Prakash Dsouza and Fr. Stany Fernandes celebrated the Eucharistic mass. After the Mass All People gathered at the church premises to celebrate New Year. ICYM ferar had organised a formal new year celebration. Everyone was served cake and hot coffee to bring some warmth on this new year celebration night. The Celebration begin with cutting the New Year Cake and then various spot games were held. After the games the New year celebration ended over the DJ. Music lovers danced and enjoyed the celebration.

Ferarites Celebrate Christmas...

December 26: "Glory, glory Halleluia For the King has Born..." Ferarites celebrated Christmas with all glory on december 24th evening in Church premises..
         It all began with the singing of Christmas carols. Mr. Rony Albuquerque was the master of the carols singing ceremony. All the church ward groups sang their carol with lots of enthusiasm. Along with the Church wards the Religious sisters also took part and sang their carol.  After the carols were sung the Holy mass began. Our parish priest Fr. Stany Fernandes and two other priests clebrated the festival mass with all joy. The church was filled with devotees and everyone actively took part in eucharistic celebration.
       It was a wonderful moment for the ferarites to gather and celebrate the joy of our new born king in this chilling cold . To make it a bit warm ICYM ferar had organized a get together at church premises over a cup of hot coffee and cake. Master Jason Yedapadavu was the master of the christmas celebration ceremony. Fr Stany fernandes along with Mr. Melwyn Albuquerque and ICYM president Dony patrick cut the Festival cake and wished everone gathered there a "Merry Christmas". Everyone were busy in greeting their friends and relatives.
ICYM had arranged lots of Thrilling Spot Games and Mega housy-housy, the  game of Chance. everyone actively took part in all the games and enjoyed  to the fullest. All the winners in the spot games held and the Mega Housy-housy were distributed cakes.
        After the spot games, DJ was held in Church premises. DJ Levin Castelino Scribbled some favourite numbers and all the music lovers were putting steps to their favourite beats. The program ended over the DJ and everyone thanked ICYM for making christmas more celebrative.. At the end 3 CHeers to All the ferarites and 3 cheers to ICYM for organising the christmas celebration event!!!
