Mangalore Jul 11: The United youngsters on the occasion of its golden jubilee celebrations, all set to present Wilfy’s Sentimental Nite at the TMA Pai Auditorium, Mangalore on 2nd of August 2009.

Fifty years are long period in every one’s life, without exception. United Youngsters which took off 5 decades ago as a small youth unit, is today on the verge of reaching a prominent milestone of celebrating its Golden Jubilee. While black hair has turned grey over time, the same youth spirit and enthusiasm has remained green as ever. Over the years, United youngsters has supported the cause of art by organizing musical shows, dramas, seminars and also stood for literature by publishing books and articles. A noteworthy work which is very close to our heart is the establishment and maintenance of a charitable and educational fund by name Gratian Rebimbus Memorial Educational Fund.
 
And now, the most prestigious, soul searching and noble event of all is to support, recognize and salute the greatest legendry father figure, the one and only Wilfy Rebimbus. Having dedicated his 50 years of life to Konkani Music and Art, this living legend Konkan Kogul ought to rule the world on his God given talent alone. This is a golden opportunity to present the love and respect to Wilfy Rebimbus, says the press release from United youngsters.

It is high time that we all need to join hands and proclaim to the world, that we have in our midst the greatest personality and this Sentimental nite to be staged on 2nd August 2009 will mark the beginning of a new chapter to honour this greatest artist and imprint his incomparable compositions in our hearts and lives, the release adds.
 
The Organizing committee is working hand in hand to make this event a memorable one. Mr. Leslie Rego (Covenor),  Mr. Prem Lobo, Mr. Claude D’Souza, Mr. Dolla, Mr. Joswin Pinto, Mr. Kiran Menezes, Mr. Vivian Pinto, Mr. Richard Castelino, Mr. Merwin Pinto Mr. Vishwas Rebimbus, mr. Christopher Mascarenhas and Mrs. Charleen Rebimbus are the members of Sentimental Wilfy Nite organizing Committee.
 
Mr. Felix Lobo (President), Mr. Leo Rodrigues, Mr. James  Mendonca, Mr. Lawrence Pinto, Mr Walter, Mr. Austin D’Souza Prabhu, Mr. Max Rasquinha, Mr. Flavian Pinto, Mr. Max Mendis, Mr. Stanley Fernandes and Mr Ronald F. D’Souza are the member of Honorary Committee.
 
Local artist like Mr. Prem Lobo, Mr. Claude D’Souza, Dr. Prashanth Raj and Ms. Monita Veigas, Mr. Ronald D’Cunha from Kuwait, Mr. Rathan Castelino from Dubai, Mr. Stany D’Souza from Sharjah and Mr. Ivan Sequeira from Mumbai will entertain the audience with their melodious voices. Music will be provided by Mr. Pappan and Mr. Joswin. In between the songs, Dolla and Kulla from the Memory group will entertain the crowd with their humorous jokes and skits.
